THERE is just 37 days until fashion fever takes its hold over Perth.Today the official countdown to the Perth Fashion Festival began with an intimate and sophisticated champagne breakfast at the WA Art Gallery.
Festival sponsors and media braved the wet and wintry weather conditions to catch the first glimpse of the bursting festival program that will start on September 4.
Guests were treated to a ‘fashion moment’ – a parade down the gallery's spiral staircase, showcasing the designs from our newest and most successful WA designers, which included Ruth Tarvydas, Aurelio Costarella, United Constructions, Antipodium and Morrison.
The festival celebrates its 10th birthday this year, and there to help celebrate were eight of the 10 festival faces. 2007 face, Chadwick model Fabienne Vanderhaeghen is currently in New York and 2004 Amy Finlayson is currently travelling to Bali.
Bestival 2008of over 100 WA designers to an anticipated audience of 16,000 people.
The three hottest tickets on the Perth Fashion Festival schedule are indigenous swimwear label Kooey’s collection launch, the new-look WA Fashion Awards, and of course, the opening night cocktail party where Pierucci will celebrate 25 years in fashion.
The 2008 Perth Fashion Festival will be held from 4-12 September.
